SUPPORT THE GIRL CHILD GO TO SCHOOL – ROSARIO PARISH 2022

We are glad to mention, that what started as a small program with only a few girls considered, has received attention from well-wishers who have responded positively with their donations.

This initiative is aimed at supporting the girl-child go to school. This is not to say that the girl child is the only vulnerable among the people in the community. However, we picked on them because statistically, we experience more girls dropping out of school than boys. This reality exposed many girls to high levels of teenage pregnancies and early marriages. This shuttered the dreams of many girls in the community.

From the donations received so far, the parish has managed to help a good number of young girls, currently at 40, who are proudly in school now. Most of these girls were not going to school due to lack of basic school requirements. They were lacking school uniforms, shoes, bags, books, pens and sanitary pads. Today, the story is differently for the girls, they have been provided with all the above stated necessities. As a feedback from beneficiaries, Josephine (14), shares that after having received material help she is happily and comfortably in school and she conveys her gratitude and prayers to the donors. Whilst, Ester (12), shares that “I’m happy to be in school now, I have a normal childhood and I pray my dreams shall come true”. Together with the girls, we would like to appreciate our donors unreservedly for their generosity.

It should be noted that our parish is committed to fostering education for young girls, in the territory, whose lives would have been in shambles by now. We believe, in helping the girl child we are contributing to building a well-founded society.

It is encouraging to see how the parish community is being transformed and lives being touched by an initiative as simple as this. The first term in the academic year 2022 is coming to an end, in the second term, it shall even be more joyful to have many people on board to SUPPORT THE GIRL CHILD GO TO SCHOOL. May the Lord continue blessing the hand that gives.
